Characteristics of the Drug and Dosage

The drug is a capsule formulation where a part is meant for slow release and a part meant for rapid release. The strength of the drug is 30 mg and hence the dosage and number of intake time must be considered carefully.

• The size of the capsule is around 21.00 mm. It is an orange colored oblong shaped capsule with has SHIRE 381 imprinted on side and 30 mg imprinted on another side.
• The drug has the active ingredient as amphetamine or dextroamphetamine. However, there are many inactive ingredients in the drug.
• The drug has potential for abuse and hence it is necessary to consume it only after prescription and dosage recommendation by doctor.

There are many side effects which can be caused by the drug. Since, it is a CNS stimulant, it should not be taken in presence of inhibitor drugs.

Side Effects of the Drug Intake

There are some common side effects and symptoms for the same generally reduces with time. However, on adverse effect it is necessary to immediately consult doctor. The most common side effect of the drug are bloody urine, irregular heartbeat, pain the bladder, frequent urination etc.
The lesser common side effect includes cough, diarrhea, fever, headache, joint pain etc. It can even cause nausea, muscle aches, shivering, sleeplessness etc. Another common issue observed with the drug is even anxiety or sleeplessness etc. The drug tends to change the chemical ingredients and impulse in the brain.
